You run around with a ship, blast out minerals from asteroids
Use the minerals to build up your ship,
And eventually work your way towards the center of the galaxy for the main story.
The galaxy is absolutely ginormous. 1000 by 1000 sectors. All of the sectors are huge but most of them are empty, unless you wait around for a long enough time in which...
Just as the title says.
I have a Corsair Vengeance 1300 and the cord is going bad causing sound to drop from left speaker. In the market for a new one. My requirements:
2) Microphone incorporated
3) Good directional surround sound and sound quality
I have the sound card in my signature, which has digital and optical out, and outputs for speaker channels. Seems like all the wireless options use USB and then their software to "fake" surround. Surround is important to me as...
I've seen several videos of people playing this game and they all seem to like it.
Looks pretty cool. It's like a Battle Royale/Hunger Games mashup.
Comes out tomorrow and I hear it's going to be $30.
not sure if it's EA or full release. They've been having closed beta weekends so that makes me think it should be full release.
I think I'm going to buy it and at least check it out.
Thought there was thread on this one already . . . so now there is
Not sure how many folks on here are aware of or are following this one, it's another Early Access game, but it's very polished and is progressing well.
This Friday (4/15/2016) is the official Alpha 1.0 release, though it's been very playable for several months now in earlier versions.
About the game :
I am playing wolfenstein : old blood
RX480 (driver 16.9.2).
It runs fine (Knocks on wood). Although the wolfenstein games seem to favor nvidia gpu based cards a lot... (Old blood even has special cuda optimizations in the graphic options menu). The game does runs fine. I have 38fps to 40fps at 1080p with 2xAA and most options to high or medium. And the game looks great. Only one thing that is a bit distracting, i think even the old return to castle wolfenstein game had dynamic lightning with...
EDIT: Thread title
I realize that there is already one Star Citizen thread. When discussing the development team's progress it seemed things got heated pretty quickly, almost like a political debate. It detracted from actually discussing the game itself.
Maybe we can discuss the development aspects of CIG here? A thread like this was suggested before, but I have not been able to find anything similar through searches. I'm hoping this wont end up getting closed.
For what it's worth, I am a...
Anandtech now has a guild! The tag is 'AT'
The Leaders are:
for the US.
for EU (For noobies who don't know how to join: Select English (British) under options and type in Anandtech in the search bar.)
I guess I'll make this the "Official" Marvel Heroes thread. Feel free to discuss the game or post info about it.
I'll try to list active codes or promotions as they come. They usually have a new code every weekend, and a new event every other weekend.
In case anyone cares, Marvel Heroes (basically think MMO Diablo clone with Marvel characters) is having a week-long event throwing out a ton of bonuses right now. You...
On the 'getting around to it' list.
It's a great game and is still good.
It's well-rounded. Good story, good character variety, good balance of interesting skills but not too complicated, nice balance of gameplay, nice quests, nice flow, good artwork.
I think we underestimate the creativity needed to say 'make alien world architecture and races'.
It's not perfect - a bit cookie-cutter sometimes - but very good.
According to a Paypal's Twitter account the Steam summer sale will start tomorrow. This has now been confirmed by Valve. So batten down your wallets, gird your paypay account, it is coming!
What is on everyone's wish list for this sale? What do we expect to see good prices on?
The whole Roguelike genre is a pretty popular one and I was wondering what other people's opinions were for their favorite games of the genre. If we get enough submissions, I'll keep this one updated with everyone's suggestions so people who are looking for something new can check them out, especially since most games of this genre are under $5 on Steam right now and even cheaper on Humble Bundles.
These are the ones I've played and that I recommend.
- Hero Siege (Arena-style hack-n-slash...
I put ~ 225 hours into Dirt Rally - by far-far the most hours I've put into any game in the last 15 years.
I'm totally stoked for Dirt 4 - looking forward to multiplayer Rally stages a la Dirt 3.
Gamer Mode vs Simulation Mode - HA HA.
Simulation Mode all the way baby!
I'm looking for suggestions of games to play young kids. To give you an idea, I've had some success with Plants vs Zombies (the original), Kerbal Space Program (which degenerates into watching rockets blow up after about 5 minutes), and arcade-y racing games like Asphalt 8 (I generally prefer to skip pay-to-play type games but it has pretty good graphics).
As you might expect, I'm avoiding violent games. I've wondered about some of the Lego games, but the Marvel...
It's a different feeling. Haven't used a game pad in over 15 years(ps2)
works so well considering my desktop is a Microsoft os as well as the ms controller(dunno if that matters)
So far i've played Tekken 7, grim dawn, and kid chameleon with a controller. works so well.
For games like CS:GO and WC3TFT, mouse & keyboard will always trump any game pad
Im working in a little prototype and this week I got a borrowed Xbox controller to test my project. My first idea was to use the same gameplay mechanics as Dragon Age Inquisition: WASD for movement, moving camera with middle click pressed, and mouse cursor available to select targets and interact with scene stuff. The other option was to use the Mass Effect/Witcher style: free camera with mouselook (no cursor), casting a ray from the center of the view to select target and objects.
